What is a door ding? A prime example of this is when a car is parked next to your car, if the other person opens their door, it might hit your car. That is a text-book case of door ding. Most parking spaces (spots) have cars on both sides. With a corner spot, you have a car on one side and nothing on the other side. Other common door dings examples are caused by runaway shopping carts, falling tree branches, a baseball hitting the car while kids are playing catch in the yard & gravel or pebbles being kicked up by vehicles in front of you on the highway.
